Outlook Notes for Android

Classic Outlook Notes are useful precisely because they are simple: open a note, capture an idea, and get back to work. But for years, those notes have been difficult to use away from the Windows desktop. Outlook Notes for Android closes that gap by bringing the same notes to your phone without moving them into a separate note-taking service.

Sign in with the Microsoft work, school, or personal account that contains your notes. The app connects to Microsoft, synchronizes your existing Outlook Notes, and keeps changes made on Android and Windows together.

Your Outlook Notes, organized for a phone

A compact note list makes large collections manageable on a small screen. Search note titles and contents, sort by modification time, title, or category, and filter the list to one or more Outlook categories. Optional timestamps show when each note was last changed, and familiar note colors make categories easy to recognize at a glance.

Category sorting creates an expandable outline. A note assigned to several categories appears beneath each applicable heading, while remembered expand and collapse states let you return to the same working view.

Edit without changing how Outlook Notes work

Create, edit, categorize, print, share, and delete notes from Android. The first line remains the note title, just as it does in Outlook. Undo and redo protect in-progress edits, while save and discard confirmation prevents accidental loss.

The editor supports adjustable text size, word wrapping, optional extra space between paragraphs, and an option to use the note's category color as the editor background. Text preferences are remembered between sessions. Changes are checked against the server before saving so an update made elsewhere is not silently overwritten.

Put important notes on your home screen

Outlook Notes widgets keep frequently used information visible without opening the full app. A widget can display one note or rotate through a stack of selected notes. Use the previous and next controls to move through the stack, tap the position indicator to change widget settings, or tap the note to open it.

Each widget has its own note selection, rotation order, font size, font color, background color, and transparency. That means a project checklist, shopping list, reference note, or daily reminder can each have a presentation suited to its purpose.

Your Microsoft password is never collected or stored by Outlook Notes for Android. Authentication is handled by Microsoft, and access can be reviewed or revoked from your Microsoft account.

Designed for people who still rely on classic Notes

If Outlook Notes are where you keep procedures, lists, reference material, reminders, recipes, or the small pieces of information that do not belong in a formal document, this app lets that established system travel with you. There is no migration project and no second collection to maintain—just the Outlook Notes you already use.

Outlook Notes for Android currently uses a Microsoft Graph beta interface for classic Outlook Notes. Microsoft may change that interface before it becomes generally available, and application updates may be required.
